adult Beagles.
Ken and I grew up with Beagles and Basset Hounds as kids .
And they have been a huge part of our adult lives for over 16
years . We couldn't imagine our lives without them..
Hound dogs are devoted to their families ,they are loyal,
gentle and loving . They adore kids.
They are very intelligent, and eager to please . Especially
if they know food is in the bargain .
And then there will be days when you ask your hound to do
something . And they give you "the look"
This is when they will look you straight in the eye while
deciding if they are going to do it or not.
Everyone who has ever had the privilege of being owned by a
hound dog will at one time or another experience "the look" .
That's just part of their character that makes them who they
are.
( but show them a french fry and they are ready to comply)
Whether you choose a hound for a family pet, or a hunting
companion
they just want to be where you are and do what you do
the secret to success is to give them lots of praise and be
consistent with training .
You will have a faithful friend who will be sure to fill your days
with lots of laughs and unmeasurable joy.
